Status Update

We’re making progress on the building. The parking lot is scheduled to be paved in just over a week. It has been prepped with lots and lots of gravel, a valley gutter to channel storm water, and new sidewalks.

Inside, it’s painted, the floor coverings are installed, and the final plumbing is completed. The electrical finish is underway and the HVAC finish will happen shortly. Our contractors and subs have been fantastic and have worked steadily in the summer heat. We appreciate their efforts.

On the business side we’re working at joining insurance panels, setting up accounts with vendors, learning the new electronic health record, and prepping for the arrival of equipment and inventory.

We’re getting closer to announcing our opening date…but there is still work to be done.

The inside is changing!

The outside looks mostly unchanged, but there have been big changes inside. The plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough-ins are complete. The building is insulated and the sheet rock is being hung. We have most of a back door–a little hardware still needs installed. The front door and siding are ordered. And, we’ve been studying paint colors and flooring samples.

Trusses and Windows

Construction is moving right along! We’ve seen lots of progress in the last week. The framers and plumber have been busy. The trusses were set and sheeted, the covered entry was added, and some windows were installed. The plumbing rough-in is nearly completed as well. Plus, we have a sidewalk in the front and some concrete pads in the back.

Parade T-Shirts and Framing Update

[cycloneslider id=”parade-t-shirts-and-framing-update”]

We picked up our parade t-shirts today for the upcoming Outlaw Day Parade. Afterward, we stopped by the “office” to walk around the building. (There is a reason we named it Little Wood Vision Clinic and not Big Wood–it is small and sweet.)

The framers worked hard last Friday. All the rooms are framed in and the walls are sheeted. Unless things change, they will be back on Friday to set the trusses.
